Nexus 4 in White looks promising as bumper appears

If you’re one of the many people who would like to see Google’s Nexus 4 smartphone in white then we have some intriguing news today that seems to be rather promising. There have been rumblings since November about the release of a white version of this hugely successful phone and today we have heard news of a white Nexus 4 bumper appearing, which seems to signify that the Nexus 4 in white will be making an appearance.

The Nexus 4 is an extremely impressive smartphone running Android Jelly Bean and offering a pure vanilla Android experience and we think a white version would go down very well with consumers. Back in November there were rumors of a white version of the Nexus 4 when it briefly appeared on a phone retailer’s product page in the UK.
This was followed with a phone operator listing a Nexus 4 in White bundle that included the Nexus 7 tablet and then at the end of January we finally saw a leaked image of a white Nexus 4, although there was no way that we could verify that it was authentic. However today’s news that a Nexus 4 bumper in white is being offered by a Canadian retailer seems to almost confirm the white phone’s existence. Please note we say ‘almost’ confirms as we cannot take this as read and until we see a white Nexus 4 officially announced we’ll just continue to hope.
Eastlink is the Canadian retailer involved, with a white bumper shown and listed for the LG Nexus 4 (White) at a price of $24.99 although it’s worth noting that the Google Play Store still only has a black bumper case available. Rather strangely the retailer concerned is not selling the white bumper protection for the Nexus 4 (White) online even though it is advertised online. Instead, if you want the bumper you’ll need to print an online form and take it to a brick-and-mortar store for them to fulfill the order.
It’s certainly not unknown for accessories to hit the shelves before the product they accompany actually arrives and maybe now that Google and LG seem to be starting to get on top of stock shortages of the black Nexus 4, they will now turn their attentions to releasing the white option.
