We always try to keep our readership informed about operating system
updates for their smartphones and tablets and today there’s good news if
you have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Sprint. Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1
is now available for this device although please note this is for the
Sprint variety of the phone and not for the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon.
Sprint Galaxy Nexus
owners should be well-satisfied as the 4.2.1 update (Build
JRO03U.L700GA02) comes only shortly after the initial update to JB 4.2,
while unfortunately the wait goes on
for Verizon owners of the same device. If you want to check for the
OTA (over-the-air) update simply head through the normal route via
Settings>About Menu. Alternatively download the 4.2.1 update through
Google at the source link below.
This update will bring various improvements to your Galaxy Nexus such
as a revamped camera interface and the much-lauded PhotoSphere feature,
which is extremely impressive and that many people will be looking
forward to. It also means that users will be able to access some apps
without having to unlock the screen, with the use of lockscreen widgets.
If you want the camera app for example, simply sidescroll to the right
while for other apps sidescroll to the left.
Also you can access the Notifications Shade by swiping from the top
downwards and if you want to expand a notification or take action on it
you only need to tap on it. This should be a very welcome update,
especially the new Photo Sphere feature that will give you a 360-degree
Panorama mode.
If you are a Galaxy Nexus on Sprint owner, let us know if this Jelly Bean
update goes smoothly and what you think of the 4.2.1 improvements?
Maybe you’re a Verizon customers still waiting for your update for the
Galaxy Nexus and wondering why you’re still waiting? Let us know with
your comments.
